Interesting SMU merchandising numbers
Stopped in to see our good friends at Gameday Cloth, and asked about how SMU gear was selling. (Keep in mind, theirs is not the run-of-the-mill school-issued t-shirt that they sell - they go for the more fashionable stuff, unique designs, etc.) ... and yes, I know it's just one store. But here's the order of how their merchandise sells, by team:
1. Texas Rangers
2. SMU
3. Dallas Mavericks
4. University of Oklahoma
5. Dallas Cowboys
6. University of Texas
7. Texas A&M
8. LSU
9. Arkansas
10. Texas Tech
11. Alabama
12. TCU
Not sure what to make of that, other than the fact that I found the numbers very interesting.
Oh ... get up to Gameday Cloth and push SMU to the top of their list!

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

It doesn't surprise me that we out-sell Arkansas, for example - much further away but not a dominant program like Bama, and it's hard to imagine the same people who wear plastic pigs on their heads would buy fancy t-shirts that probably are a little more than what the bookstore at State U sells.
But the fact that we're ahead of the Mavs, Cowboys and UT is awesome. Those are local fans, and fans who spend loads of money, even when their teams aren't very good. To be ahead of them is very encouraging, I'd say.

Really surprised TCU is that low. Perhaps they really don't have the 'total' DFW market as everyone seems to think. They sure don't have the Dallas market. Hmmmm???????

That's what jumped out at me the most, too.

It's just one store, from what I've seen the bigger chains tend to not carry SMU stuff at all.

....Do you remember that one time when the original comment conceded the point that "it's just one store"?

It is an SMU alum own store with luxury SMU-type targeted product.

Have things changed recently?!?...I went to Gameday Cloth last Summer and I felt the size, selection of the SMU merchandise was a joke. TCU took up a whole corner of the store while SMU had only three clothes racks. I complained to an employee about it actually; glad if it was changed.

The Academy on Central and Forrest has some nice looking Mustang gear.

If they sold old worn overalls, Arkansas would probably be more popular

I just like the fact that Baylor wasn't even on the list!
