Cole Beasley in 2013
Will it be spent with the Cowboys?
Miles Austin and Dez Bryant are locks. Many think Terrance Williams (the rookie from Baylor) already is the #3 guy. That leaves Beasley, Dwayne Harris (who came on last year), 2012 draft pick Danny Coale and a bunch of random guys nobody's ever heard of for what ... 5 spots?
It's hard to believe they'd give up on Beasley, but he could get caught in a numbers game. Hope not.

It's a good question. My gut is Beasley stays. Coaching staff loves him.

Hope he gets to stick around. Didn't really get the opportunity to show his full potential despite injuries last year
Re: Cole Beasley in 2013
Going to be tough for him to find targets even if he makes the final 53, the Cowboys might keep a 5th WR who could provide more on special teams. Beasley won't have any trouble finding somewhere to land if he gets cut though.

Beas will have to earn it the old fashioned way....off season and in August on the practice fields and preseason rather than projections on internet boards, drafts and magazines. And then he has to perform to keep the spot. It never ends. And with injuries being what they are, he better be ready at any time.

I wonder about Sterling Moore, too. We know Carr and Claiborne are safe, and even though he sucks, Scandrick is getting paid a lot of money, maybe enough to guarantee him a spot. That leaves Moore fighting with B.W. Webb (2013 draftee who they apparently like so far) and a few other scrubs for a fourth and/or fifth CB spot.
His saving grace might be the fact that he also can play safety, and the Dallas safeties are awful.

Re: Cole Beasley in 2013
Remember when Beasley puked on the sideline during the preseason game against San Diego? AND led the team in receiving. Total bada$$

Sterling Moore and Beasley will make the squad. Both are smart players that proved they have value last season.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Romo. That the Cowboys still listen to anything that nimrod says is amazing.StallionsModelT wrote:Romo loves Beasley. I bet he makes the squad.
Re: Cole Beasley in 2013
A) With the money invested in him, he's going to have some clout.
B) Granted, the game has changed, but his numbers are better than those put up at this stage of their careers by Aikman and Staubach.
C) I'm no Romo fan, either (not true -- I'm a huge fan of Mike Romo and Jerad Romo), but the team can't get rid of him until it gets someone better, and Kyle Orton is not better.
So if StallionsModelT's claim that Romo loves Beasley is true, that should go a long way toward helping Beasley make the team again.

Notes from OTA (tweets) Dez Bryant and Cole Beasley "couldn't be covered" in the first WR vs DB drills.

Broaddus says that during drills, Beasley and Dez are virtually unguardable.
