Athlon FB Predictions for AAC

Low expectations for Texas Schools. We need to rise to the occasion and surprise.

Here is their Preview for SMU and project us at #94. Too low, but similar to USAToday.

For reference, where we would have come out last year based on Congrove rankings:

1. Louisville (18)
2. Cincinnati (20)
3. UCF (30)
4. Rutgers (38)
5. SMU (62)
6. UConn (81)
7. Houston (82)
8. Temple (87)
9. Memphis (99)
10. USF (102)

And Sagarin:

1. Louisville (27)
2. Cincinnati (36)
3. UCF (45)
4. Rutgers (53)
5. SMU (57)
6. USF (86)
7. UConn (89)
8. Temple (100)
9. Houston (108)
10. Memphis (123)

I don't buy that we will be worse off next year than this year. Do you?

Why did USF fall off so much? Weren't they really good a few years ago?

Maybe Skip Holtz killed that program?

The program started going down hill under Leavitt. It fell off the cliff under Holtz.

I wouldn't really say the program was going downhill under Leavitt at all. He wasn't fired for losing. He was fired for apparently hitting a player and telling staff and other players to lie about it.

Solidly. The next (sixth) place teams were 19 (Congrove) and 29 (Sagarin) places below us

BTW, this is not good enough for me. We are at the point where we need to be getting top 25 votes

You need to have a heart to heart conversation with June. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

My post had a bit of sarcasm......6 years into this and it sounds like 6-6 is a realistic record for this season...........I guess if we can put together a cupcake schedule like JJ had that last season at Hawaii, maybe he can win 9+ games a season.
