We seem to have several Poteet guys interested/committed/targeted this year. Pipeline forming? I remember when I graduated from Poteet in 2002 one of my buddies was offered by SMU and he walked on at UNT because he, "wanted to play for a winning team." All bi***ing aside, things are definitely better than they were back then...

He is not a prima donna. Another school enters the recruiting battle with a hard push and you are ready to give up. I guess you would make a good member on JJ's staff. Let's just recruit player with no D1A offers and if they get one where we might have to put extra effrt into the recruiting just revoke the offer. C'mon man.

The fact that he has offers from schools other than UTSA, UNT, and SHSU is already a huge improvement. Kid has a ton of offers. I'm happy to have him on our team.

You obviously don't read the pay sites. Kid was never an actual commit to us. And while I'd fight for him, unfortunately I know this staff won't do that.

So pull the offer since he is gone anyway and you know our staff will do nothing to keep him.

I was reading on my phone, so I apologize to the poster I mistook for Rebel10 - my apologies to L4life.

As for Rebel-- it is this very attitude that rubs non-SMU folks the wrong way. Don't assume you know anything about me.

I know this staff and I know they will not put up a fight. So I would rather open up the scholly now and get someone in with quality offers rather than run around at the last minute and take someone with zero other offers. That was what I was trying to say.

At some point doesn't pride kick in and you say "Hey, go eff yourself!" I know it is only a verbal, and 17-yo kids can change their minds on a whim - but he is pining for other offers. I know you have to fight for the good ones, but I see no fight in our staff. So I see a kid that chose SMU early as a safety net, then openly spits on that offer.

I can't see Saban putting up with that crap. But that's just me.

We are so freaking giddy about actually getting a 3 star kid with a few offers that we are willing to put up with this crap. IMHO, which is only worth what you want to pay for it, that is the real indictment of where we are as a program.

Just messin with you NC. I know you want the best for SMU. Granted some on here would not take it as an insult to be referred to as one of JJ staff members. But come to think about it I guess it was a low blow. Sorry about that.
