LeRibeus admitted earlier this offseason he had gained quite a bit of weight. He suffered a hamstring injury, and then Shanahan said it led to a groin injury, and that his advice to LeRibeus was to make sure he was absolutely healthy, and in the best shape possible before returning to action. LeRibeus has done quite a bit of running during these offseason practices, but still appears to have some pounds to lose. Shanahan said, "He’s just got to get back into football shape." The coach said, "I hope he’s full speed ahead once we get to Richmond and has a chance to compete for a starting job."
