Actually, it's the DMN's parent company, Belo, that's being sold.
I wonder what effect this will have (eventually, not immediately) on SMU coverage.

Actually, DMN was sold some time ago and is not part of Belo anymore.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Other than that the title of the thread is completely accurate though.PK wrote:Actually, DMN was sold some time ago and is not part of Belo anymore.

It'll be interesting to see what changes there might be in the coverage of SMU (and other local teams) by the Channel 8 sports desk - more or less? more or less favorable? after this purchase.

Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

Hold on, can it be any worse? Maybe the Mustang Club could sponsor a page or 1/2 a page (costs should not be too high these days) for SMU news at least once a week. Let Journalism majors write the copy. Call it the Pony Express!
