What link are you looking at? I googled him and got this 247Sports.com profile, which says he's a 3-star guy and the #90 outside linebacker in the country.

I saw the same web page, but it was my first visit to the site and didn't notice where they placed their stars. I thought Texas ranking was more relevant because PF readers often use Texas rank as a key metric in judging our progress vs. traditional (SWC) rivals.Vitale wrote:What link are you looking at? He's a headhunter.... great addition. He had what 156 tackles last year----156 total tackles, an interception, three forced fumbles and three recovered fumbles?...he is fast 4.6- 4.7 extremely coachable, and will be 6'1 or 6'2 and 235 when he plays here. His Dad played NFL ball and is also a coach...this kid is a winner!

Re: Rhone (ILB) commits to SMU
I am very confused here and this is not directed to anyone in this thread, just a statement of confusion.
We often get a commitment from someone who has little or no offers and everyone blasts the commitment or the staff for "another one with no offers from anyone". Now we get a commitment from a young man with no offers from anyone and we seem to be very happy.
Am I missing something or is it just a variance of opinion from different posters?
None of this is meant to reflect on the young man who has committed. I am always happy to welcome new players on board.

Max is right as he is the 216th rated player in Texas but he is also 91st at his position in the nation. Glad to have him.Vitale wrote:What link are you looking at? I googled him and got this 247Sports.com profile, which says he's a 3-star guy and the #90 outside linebacker in the country.

Re: Rhone (ILB) commits to SMU
I'm right there with you, mrydel. I admit I'll try at times to point out the fact that basically all of our recruits are 2-stars with no other offers but it is kind of like beating a dead horse these days. I'm not sure what is the cause for all the glowing reports on Rhone, hopefully he is a player. Plus, I realize it's not any of these kids fault that they jumped at an opportunity to commit to a great school in a great city, and I realize that some really good players fly under the radar with a lower rating/no offers but it is hard to justify ALL of our recruits as flying under the radar.mrydel wrote:I am very confused here and this is not directed to anyone in this thread, just a statement of confusion.

I believe it was the 2012 class that had more 3-stars than 2-stars, and we even had a couple of 4-stars until Klemm left but the last couple of classes have a significant downgrade by the recruiting services.

156 tackles in one year?? That's awesome.ponyscott wrote:He's a headhunter.... great addition. Who's his dad? Or who did his dad play for?
