Maybe they should have sent the mascot freakshow to put out the fires by rolling around on them.
2-for-1 problem-solving, so to speak.

Re: Mascot/fireworks solutionNow THAT's an idea that would work.
Give me a good team, enthusiastic cheerleaders and the Mustang Band, and that's all we need. Manufactured traditions are just silly.
Re: Mascot/fireworks solutionSpeaking of Mustang Band....what did ya'll think of the baby blue colors? What was that about?
Re: Mascot/fireworks solutionI don't know, but they were hideous. Sounded OK, but those baby blues need to go. Stick to the traditional blue blazers.
I really shouldn't drink and type.
Re: Mascot/fireworks solutionWhat are you talking about? We wore a red vest for the boulevard march and pregame, and then a red blazer for halftime. Under the jackets/vests we always wear either a white shirt or a light blue shirt. After halftime, since it was like 95 degrees and we were burning up, we took off our jackets, so I guess you are referring to the light blue shirts. Same uniform parts the band has been wearing since the 50's, but when the team sucks, people find the littlest things to nitpick about.
