Not so great in openers lately
2010- 35-27 loss at Texas Tech, 2011- 46-14 loss at A&M, 2012- 59-24 loss at Baylor.
We played Tech the closest game, so does this mean playing our opener at home that we finally get it done in 2013 ?

Yes it does. Tech is not nearly as good as the other two and we are at home. And the pressure is on June.

I'd like to see all the SMU fans get behind this team v. Tech and give them a true home field advantage...even all you pessimists and "woes is us", for the first game at least. Looking forward to seeing all the coaches and kids at the Football Banquet in August and hyping us up. Hey, trends are made to be broken!

Re: Not so great in openers lately
Might be too late for SMU fans to get behind this team for the game. Looks like Tech fans have purchased all of the tix. Should be even worse than the SMU attendance at the Tech game in Dallas on Labor Day a few years ago. Hard to beat the excitement of Tech fans and their new, frat-tastic coach.

What is going to really hurt us is that the students will probably all have gone home for the long weekend.

Formal wear not required.CenTXpony wrote:I'm trying to buy extra tux and bring as many friends as possible to support us...

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Sadly, I agree.AustinPerson wrote:Might be too late for SMU fans to get behind this team for the game. Looks like Tech fans have purchased all of the tix.
