OSU DE leaves
Naim Mustafaa, defensive end #3 on depth chart, has left Okie State. Do we go after him for next year?
Re: OSU DE leaves
Just like in the Penn State situation. I think the staff policy is we go after him only if he contacts us first and shows interest. Is this confirmed? Do you have a link or source?

Originally from Georgia, so I'd be surprised if he doesnt go closer to home. But if he has interest in us then we should absolutely look into it

My understanding is that the transferee has to make the initial contact with the team/coach he is interested in. In other words a coach can't "recruit" a player transferring from another school until after the player has made the initial contact. Maybe you can if the player is currently in a junior college...but I really don't know about that.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Once a payer gets his release papers signed anyone is free to contact him and he is free to contact anyone. But not before the release papers are signed.

I'm with East Coast on this one. He would be a nice get for us (he originally signed with Georgia out of high school). I think he will be coming back to Georgia. His dad Reggie Rutland was a big time defensive player at Georgia Tech. I think his dad may have actually played with Tech's current d coordinator, Ted Roof. I would like for him to go to G Tech.
Re: OSU DE leaves
Isn't Ted Roof at UCF now?

Things may have changed since the new hirings and we might be a bit more assertive now. Hal Mumme has Georgia connections and could land him possibly.

They brought him back to Tech this spring. Paul Johnson is fight for his job and bringing Roof back gave PJ a little breathing room. I think Johnson is the June Jones of the ACC. He stays on the hot seat.

Gundy won't let him play for any Div 4 team. Or another Okla or Texas team. Or any team that plays on artificial turf. Or one that has natural grass but plays more than 50% of their games past 5pm, on Saturdays.
