I bet the SCOREBOARD had something to do with your view of Tech fans.
Not at all. I have consistently encountered the worst fans when we play Tech (and I am not alone). No big deal...it's just a fact. They are just obnoxious...k state fans by contrast were loud but respectful of TCU folks near them. Tech people seem oblivious and generally don't care how they are portrayed - the Mike Leach syndome!
Tech fans are the trash of Texas. As far as the worst goes...nobody beats Ohio St. The ugliest, trashiest, meanest. Just plain foul when it comes to the women.
Every fan base has their idiots, some just have more of them.
I'd take a few thousand idiots if it meant we could sell out our home games against the likes of Temple and Montana St.
Most of our fan base gets mad when I come to Dallas for games and stand and yell. They sit and look clueless to the fact that a game is even being played.
Hope the game sells out, but I'm also hoping to get a couple that week. Looks like I need to pay up and get them now. Tech fans are whipped into a frenzy for this opener. Ticket prices need to be as high as they would charge for a Big 12 game.
My theory is the sooner this game sellouts the more Tech fans will be in the Stadium. SMU fans will walk up to the ticket office on game day looking for sideline seats. I'm predicting biggest Tech crowd ever in Ford. kind of like A&M-it didn't sellout but there were incredibly few SMU fans for an SMU home game.

Based on your theory of a late sell out benefiting Pony fans, shouldn't there have been a higher SMU mix at the Aggie game? I agree with your hypothesis but think Pony fans are more price sensitive than the average Aggie fan who is used to high prices.
Yeah I doubt there was much more than 15-17,000 SMU fans. Its a mystery to me why SMU couldn't sell 7 game season tickets for $95 bucks. I think Aggies felt like they were getting gouged because even end zone seats were $85 bucks which is pretty damn ridiculous. Tech tickets are much cheaper

Interning at Dallas City Hall this summer and all CoD employees received an email today promoting discounted tickets for employees & family to the game. First email of its kind as far as SMU promoting - at least they're doing something.
