NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) -- Louisville is the overwhelming favorite to win the American Athletic Conference in its last season as a member of the league formerly known as the Big East.
Cincinnati, with new coach Tommy Tuberville, received the other two first-place votes and was picked second in the American. Rutgers was third. The Scarlet Knights are also leaving the conference after this season. They'll be in the Big Ten in 2014.

We'll be the "surprise" team. Well maybe not after we knock off Tech and TCU.

Maybe I'm more of an optimist than I think I am, but I don't see anyway we don't finish higher than 8th. USF and Memphis were garbage last year and I like our chances against UCF and UConn at home.

I like it. Let teams take us for granted -- then knock em off 1 by 1.

hmmm...sounds about right, but who are we going to finish ahead of? Should be a heck of a race for last place with SMU, Temple, UConn, Memphis and USF all competing.
Everyone knows the AAC is a basketball conference

Wouldn't count Memphis yet as sure win, especially since on the road.

Oh well. I kind of thought we could take them down as well.

I think this was a pretty accurate assessment. Man next year AAC is really going to be a joke especially how we play against the real div 1 teams
