I also didn't see the "whiteout" in the bottom of the ad, but anyhow white it is, although it's about the only color that I don't have a SMU T-Shirt in. At least it gives me a reason to buy another SMU shirt.

I might be a little younger, but what the hell is a soirée?

For those curious:
"an evening party," 1793, from French soirée, from soir "evening," from Old French soir, from Latin sero (adv.) "late, at a late hour," from serum "late hour," neuter of serus "late," from PIE *se-ro-, from root *se- "long, late" (cf. Sanskrit sayam "in the evening," Lithuanian sietuva "deep place in a river," Old English sið "after," German seit "since," Gothic seiþus "late," Middle Irish sith, Middle Breton hir "long").

The season kickoffs with a huge game against Texas Tech under the lights at Ford Stadium at 7 pm on Friday, August 30th. Wear your best white Mustang gear for the annual "Whiteout" and for your chance to be on ESPN, showing the country why SMU fans are No. 1.
"Whiteout" is f'n stupid. Why do the people in the carpeted offices continually throw this out? Absolutely embarrassing. Anyway, unless some "arrangements" have been made, the TT team will be wearing white. Annual "Whiteout" - give me a break..............

Perhaps we decided to 'honor' TT (ala Army) and their new coach.

I will reserve judgement on this marketing campaign until I see how many people attend our soiree, but I did see a related ad on one of the rotating lighted billboards this morning on Central - and it was blue!

Does a white out mean the guys and gals that paint themselves up for a game will go "au natural' for the TTU game?

I am glad someone asked that. There are a few others words on there that I still trying to figure out. LOL. I guess it was the overture.

Re: 1st Gameday should be an extraordinary Soiree
One would think given SMU's pedigree that we all know what a soiree is and could plan and execute one if needed.

Salutations Ponyte, you are correct. With the Afcionado's SMU has that should be accomplished. Equus ferus Up.ponyte wrote:One would think given SMU's pedigree that we all know what a soiree is and could plan and execute one if needed.
