I've listened for years, just tired of the shtick. We all have choices which is great.

Popularity never has been and never will be the yardstick for greatness. Juvenile just about sums it up.

Sure thing boss. The Ticket gets more high profile guests and produces more quality content than The Fan or ESPN 103.3 combined not to mention not beating you over the head with boring stats or sports nerdery. No need to defend The Ticket.

It's ok, his overall "sky is falling" attitude is getting much better. :)

By the way, I do need to visit Danny's bar in DE. If I tuned in all I hear is Cowboys Cowboys Cowboys, what is wrong with Romo. Manziel, yada yada. Im done for a while. The end.

LOL. I'm one of maybe 100 alums under the age of 30 that give a damn about this program and give $1K to the Mustang Club every year. God help this program when our nursing home oil barons die off. The few of us younger alums have a very good reason to be "sky is falling" as our administration and athletic department settle for mediocrity while other Texas schools have warped right by us thanks in large part to the actions of the idiots around the program in the late 70's and 80's.

Norm Hitges, as nerdy as he is, and Chuck Cooperstein. That is the sum total of sports talk radio in Dallas. The rest is schtick and buffoonery IMO.

The actions of the idiots of the early 1980's period were in direct response to the previous thirty years of mediocrity. SMU was a national player until Doak's graduation in 1949-1950. Other than a blip here and there, we wouldn't be nationally relevant again until 1980.

For the record, I'm not defending mediocrity, just being descriptive. I agree with your call to match TCU's recent successes.

I understand that. But getting caught time after time after time after time tells me that

A) these guys were not very good at cheating
B) were too arrogant to think we'd get anything but probation
C) were idiots

I choose all of the above.

They were smart and not idiots, just very very arrogant. But then again I guess you can say they were idiots for being so arrogant.

It isn't those idiots. We could have recovered from them but now. It is all the sycophants that stood around rubbing Copeland's feet being OK with not even trying for 20 years.

Couch em is right. It didn't slow down USC or Alabama.
