Jonathan Yenga

Post by Alaric »

Any word on Jonathan? I heard last year that he looked pretty good, athletic with a good sized frame but had a series of small injuries that bothered him. Haven't seen a single mention of him this camp and very little or nothing this past spring...

I expect him to get time behind Pope and Joyner this year.

Jonathan is a good guy just like his big brother … coaches and players really like him. I think he is a little taller and more athletic then Youri …. defiantly better hands. Beside more PT this year, I would not be shocked to maybe see him sneak into a one spot before the season is out … Mason likes him

I know he did get into JJ’s and Masons doghouse a little last year due to classroom issues … but a good kid. Still one of my LB sleepers is Longoria (big, strong, athletic … w speed and ups)

Coaches and teammates have talked about how Yenga and Brandon Henderson have had really good camps, and have played well enough that they should get playing time ... allowing Pope and Joyner to stay fresher.
PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

I thought Jonathan was lighter than Youri. Anyway, LB is another area that would really good to have some quality depth in. Assuming we don't much pressure from the line, a lot of pressure will have to come from blitzes which is a lot of running for your LBs. Would be good to rotate in fresh legs late 3rd/early 4th quarters when the deeper teams can take the game away from us.
