------------ "Originally posted by TCUGuy: Talked to an Aggie buddy of mine last night as we were grilling steaks and drinking beer at the pool. Guy is pretty die-hard, but very realistic, and has some good contacts. He told me weeks ago that the cover-up on this thing is bigger than the crime. Well last night we got into the whole situation pretty good. What he told me was that there were a couple of big time aggie boosters that got wind of all of this earlier in the year. They supposedly went straight to some of these brokers and tried to buy up all of the merchandise to get it off the market asap. They new this thing was going to blow up and tried to get out in front of it. Supposedly there is a warehouse in East Texas where a lot of the merchandise that has been purchased in bulk amounts (jersey's, helmets, pictures, etc.) is being stored. Over the last 5 months, a lot of this merchandise has been filtered out through the twelfth man foundation, silent auctions, charity events, etc. My buddy says that a small group at A&M knew this was going on for months (he specifically mentioned the 12th man foundation). They school knows Manziel is guilty as hell, and he needs to sit this year as they do not want to risk hurting the recruiting momentum they have right now, do not want to take the chance of a loss of scholarships down the road, or a possible bowl ban. Basically they do not want to risk killing the momentum of everything they have built up over the last 12 months. Problem is, Manziel has lawyered up, and my friend is convinced if Sumlin sits him, Manziel is going to sue the hell out of the school, NCAA, and anyone else they can. If that happens, people will testify on the record, and all the dirty laundry comes out, and it's going to get real ugly. Take it for what it's worth....I have no idea if this is true, just passing along what I was told." .Back to top .. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryLet me know when they find Hoffa and the missing Nixon tapes.
Re: Conspiracy Theorywhoa whoa whoa. I may not be the best attorney in the world, but on what grounds would Manziel sue TAMU??
last time i checked, there are no due process mandates for college QBs. TAMU could bench Johnny Paycheck for any number of reasons, including the fact that he was wearing a pink polo on a Tuesday instead of a Monday. Playing QB in college is basically an at-will employment situation. Johnny Paycheck is not in a protected class for any type of discrimination claim.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryHis idiotic twitter postings could be considered "a violation of team rules" and that would be enough to bench him.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryI think the suit would be for intellectual property rights and revenue earned using his name or likeness-not a discrimination suit. Similiar to the Ed O'Bannon suit presently pending

Re: Conspiracy TheoryLast time I heard a story such as this was in the 80's when 'we' were going to drag 'TU' down if they ratted on us. Oh - we really did, too. (sarcasm) LOL!!!
Yeah -sure & we know how that came out. Simply wishfull thinking. BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: Conspiracy Theory
Gotcha. But those rules are still in effect - nothing changes until the O'Bannon suit gets resolved.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryAbsolutely zero chance A&M sits him. He's out of there after this season, and if they sit him, they'll know he could sing to the NCAA. Won't happen.
Plagiarize!
Let no one else's work evade your eyes. Remember why the good lord made your eyes. So don't shade your eyes, just Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize! (Only be sure always to call it, please .... "research.")
Re: Conspiracy TheoryI think I've seen this movie already. Has a great ending.
Honestly, I think the writers for the WWF could come up with a better plotline.
Re: Conspiracy Theorygreat one - ponyte!!! lol!!!

Re: Conspiracy Theory
Really? I would say 'intellectual property' as related to Johnny fball is a complete oxymoron. ![]()
Re: Conspiracy TheoryEvery time Roach's bug runs around my screen I damn near throw my iPad across the room.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryI heard a good grassy knoll. ESPN is trying to bury the aggies because they have a Longhorn Network to promote and they don't like the Longhorns being the ugly gal in the room.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryNational Corrupt A**hole Association I thought as a student as I read the Daily Campus at lunch
in the cafeteria in Umphrey Lee in the mid 70s when we got major league NO bowl ban, and NO TV probation for a renegade coach paying players $2.50 for a big hit tackle on someone. ![]() The article also mentioned one of our past probations in the 50s or early 60s was due to a booster flying a player in his private plane back home to be with a dying Mom or Dad ![]() May the forth be with us.
Re: Conspiracy TheoryFindings from any NCAA "investigation" will not be released until after the TV ratings are logged from the Bama/A&M game.
After that, who knows? "What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"
