Gene Stallings gets standing ovation at SMU FB Kickoff

SMU players listened intently to coaching legend Gene Stallings during Wednesday’s Kickoff Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole.

The Hall of Famer often spoke directly to the players about the importance of "thinking right’’ and appreciating the contributions of teammates

Stallings told the story of working out with high school teammate Raymond Berry before Stallings left to play for the Aggies and Berry for SMU. Although they were only doing running drills, Berry wore his shoulder pads and helmet.
