Gilbert, Shead shred Tech D early.
SMU 30, Tech 24 with serious pucker action late.
And they say all the star power is in L.A.

Sand Aggies - 31 SMU - 24 Hover misses two field goals and Gilberts pass thrown from the Tech 27 yard line as time expires is over Darius Joseph's head in the back of the end zone

You know what I can't stand; people that think that by posting losing, negative, sarcastic, flippant, contrarian, etc. comments in their predictions makes them a "clever" fan. It doesn't, it just makes you a "loser".

Oh, have I offended you? Would you prefer it if I say SMU will go 12-0 and then beat Alabama 47-6 in the national championship game? Get off your high horse. Tech is a more talented and deeper team and this is basically a neutral site game for them. I would love for us to win. I think out of the 3 big OOC games, this is obviously our best shot, but that doesn't mean we will win. It's a goddamn prediction thread, not a blow sunshine out your asss thread. Not sure how this makes me a loser. You're whininess resembles the qualities of a loser more than me predicting the score of football game. I actually don't even think the game will be as close as I posted. I've been spot on with where I thought the team would end up every year since '08 (when I was a freshmen) with the exception of '11 when I thought we would win 10 games. I'm pretty good at this stuff. Regardless I'll be in the stands on Friday night cheering them on hoping that I'm wrong.

Bama defense is pretty stout; they might hold us to less than 47 pts

I was assuming we got two pick 6's and a punt return for a TD

I'd hate to have YOU on any team I ever played on.
May the forth be with us.

Um, none of us are on the team. This is a fan board to discuss randomness. This isn't the locker room, where if somebody has a negative outlook on the season it actually affects anything.
And if you want to start a 'what do you WANT the outcome to be' thread, then do so. But in the 'what do you think will happen' thread, believe it or not, some people aren't so assured that the ponies will dominate Tech.

Dear '08 Frosh: All of us want the Mustangs to do well. There really is no point in predicting scores, yet everyone does so perhaps to amuse themselves or their egos - hoping they are accurate and smarter than the rest of the pickers. To some it is a contest. To others it is just something to talk about. I tend to think that expressing negative opinions this close to a game, and about a specific game is not good on anyone's morale. I can see how someone would take objection to your comments, and how you took offense to the comments directed to you. Let's remember we are all on the same team. Beat The Hell Out Of Texas Tech!

I beg to differ about not being on the "team" but then we all have differing opinions or we wouldn't get on here and have fun talking about Mustang Football. Frankly, I am tired of the negative comments about what might happen instead of what has happened. I'm willing to project a positive attitude as a fan because I believe each of us can collectively make a difference. We need more fans in the stands, and we need to encourage more SMU alumni to come to the games. Having said this, I offer no criticism of anyone's negative opinion. I have expressed frustration at June Jones in the past, and taken my comments directly to AD Hart. Now, will the Ponies win the game on Friday? Having watched the Mustangs play since the early Sixties, and having followed this team closely, I sincerely believe the Mustangs have a better team and will defeat Texas Tech. It has something to do with psychology and human nature. College football is more prone to emotions. I think Gilbert has his head together and the receivers will actually catch the balls. With Traylon Shead in the backfield, I think the Mustangs will do well. It makes no sense to some, but this is my intuition. If I am wrong - well I'd rather be a horse's [deleted] at predicting games than an expert defeatist.

I have to agree with this logic and this prediction.
