Mistake Free game vs. Tech
Our Ponies really need to play an almost mistake free game on national tv at home to beat Texas Tech. Cheer loud and proud and let's get behind them, each and every play.

Lets get this done. Carpe diem. And for the receivers, please carpe the freaking ball...

If GG is accurate and the secondary hold up we can win.

Being the first game of the season, mistake-free is a lot to ask. Making fewer and less critical mistakes while capitalizing (and causing) on TT's blunders will get the ponies a win.

Re: Mistake Free game vs. Tech
I am ready to say if we just don't make mistakes that lead to immediate or near immediate points for the other team, than we will do fine. If it is close in the end I like our chances. You can criticize JJ on recruiting, but he is a pretty sound coach in the last couple of minutes of a tight football game. That's where his laid back vibe is actually beneficial.

If we can stop the run, and GG plays turnover free, I say we win
I have confidence our secondary and LBs can handle the pass if the run is non-existant

If Traylon is the real deal and the WRs can hold on to the damn ball, then we've got a chance. Defense has to be ready to lay some wood as well.
Sure hope JJ remembered to install the shuttle pass play that worked a bajillionty times with ZL.

I think the key is scoring first. In our last 28 games, we are 15-0 when we score first and 0-13 when we don't. We need to get ahead, be confident, and shake the walk-on qb's confidence

I agree, especially after seeing our game against TCU last season. We could have easily won that game and did not need to be anywhere close to mistake-free. We just cannot afford to give away the game like we did against TCU.Rayburn wrote:Being the first game of the season, mistake-free is a lot to ask. Since 2008, we have won 22 games if we won the Turnover battle (or even), and lost 28 if we lose the turnover battle.

Re: Mistake Free game vs. Tech
so if they score first on a fumble in the first minute, that would be a bad thing - right?
