The entire tailgating area is covered by trees and tents. No reason to worry about that. By around 8:00 then sun won't be a factor on the visitors side and you should be fine.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Most visiting fans have tickets for the game where they may be facing the sun. Feel free to move around the stadium and sit in the shade.

There will be plenty of empty seats... but the visitor's section will be in the shade by 7:30 at the very latest

Game starts at 7:00. Pre-game activites well before that. Sundown at around 8:00. Figure it out.

unlike the mountains, it does not cool down when the sun goes down. expect it to be sweltering the entire game. I live in the mountains during the summer and fall and it is tough to come back for these early games.

These are reserved; so, can give specific directions.

BobcatSteve,

This post is what we find to be the essence of an SMU game. The Boulveard welcomes fans regardless of whom they're rooting for. A couple of Schools, such as Cox, offer free food & limited drink to alumni and "friends" and there are food and drink available for purchase at several locations. Individual tailgaters may welcome you in for a tv update on college scores, such as the previous poster. The SMU alumni band performs about an hour or so before kickoff and Peruna(our little mascot), cheerleaders, and the SMU regular band marches along the boulevard and into the stadium about 30-40 minutes prior to the game. As another fan noted, there will be plenty of open seats, so feel free to move to a shady spot if needed. The south end zone is also a grassy spot that is a great area for kids to play and picnic. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Also, if you would like a breeze during the game, you will need to provide your own.

Actually the game looks relatively mild:

High of 97 at 1PM
Down to 93 by 7PM
Down to 84 by 10PM

Humidity in the low 30s. Should be a pleasant game. Last Saturday was still over 100 at nightfall

Good game Montana state fans. I actually feel bad for you guys that you lost like that. Smu played like absolute garbage and in no way deserved to win. Good luck with the rest of the season

Careful SMU2007, sunshiners will read that and get really really mad at you.

Montana State played very well, SMU did not deserve that win
