DMN reported Olson and Tyler Duggins have commited to Tech. Leach is going hard after OL because of some injuries, etc. to current players.

Another one gone, this one from our own backyard. Oh well, I guess we will get an early start on our second tier list very soon.

I know I am biased but with our education, campus, Dallas, good looking girls and the possibility of lots of playing time why in the hell are we having such a hard time recruiting. Its not like we are talking kids into spending the next 4 years of their life in Lubbock,Waco or Stillwater. I certainly can't beleive kids pick holes like UTEP and LA Tech over what we can offer. These kids need to understand if you want to play in the NFL you got to have playing time. If your good the NFL will find you even in CUSA. I bet Matt Nordgren from Bishop Lynch would re-think he decision to ride the pine at Texas for 4 years.

I forgot to mention Chris Olsen your Mama's kitchen and washing machine are about 5 blocks away too.

Hey, new poster here. I am a Tech grad and a huge Tech fan, but I also like SMU as a team with no real ties - I just like SMU.

Anyway, to respond to this: I understand that Dallas (at least the SMU area) is a nice place, but places like Lubbock and Stillwater are aboslutely great college towns. As a person who has lived in the Dallas area and spent a ton of time in Dallas, I chose to attend Tech, simply because you cannot underestimate the atmosphere of 30,000 students in one college town. It is something tha cannot be recreated in a large city like Houston or Dallas. It causes you to bond with your school even more than you would normally. My time in Lubbock was the best time I have ever had and will ever have. To, me the western half of the state is ugly, strange and useless, but Lubbock and Texas Tech is an absolutely wonderful place to go to school - from the sports atmosphere to the great bar scene - I loved it, as do nearly all who attend Tech. As cool as the SMU area of Dallas is ( I like it a lot) it really doesn't compare to the college experience of a place like Tech. Just my opinion.

Anyway, I hope y'all beat Baylor. Ford stadium is lovely, and the boulevard is easily the best tailgating experience in the state of Texas, it's a lot like Ole Miss, where I am now for grad school. In fact, SMU is a lot like Ole Miss in many ways, perhaps why I have always liked both schools and now attend one.

Hi DixieTech
I am also a fan of Tech & SMU. I agree with what you said 100%.
I'm sure in Olson's case everything you said is true. I know for me, it was extremely appealing to get far away from home. The hub city has beautiful people, beautiful sunsets, challenging classes, & you feel like a huge community working towards the same goal.

I love The Pony's, but I can understand why recruiting can be difficult.

Anyway, welcome aboard DixieTech & like you I wish only ILL upon the hated Baylor Bear! Hopefully, both of my schools will KILL THEM.

GunPeruna, so are you a Red Raider or a Mustang? Or just a fan of both?

I can't claim any connection with SMU except that I have some friends who are ponies and I have attended some games there etc.

I've always liked the stangs and SMU just as a fan of college football.

I look forward to the next meeting between the stangs and my Red Raiders. I love the Boulevard. It is the standard for tailgating in the state of Texas, we should all emulate y'all.

Damn nice of you, Dixie. We work hard at our pre-game .... "refreshments." (Always helps get the drive to Dallas each week started early!)
