I don't have a problem with playing UNT. They'll bring fans, generate more interest in the Metroplex than any of our conference games, and we *should* kick their butts every year. I think it was a good addition to the schedule along with Baylor and TCU going forward.bubba pony wrote:what if, and get ready for this, Hart gives JJ a contract extension? Orsini did it and didn't Phil Bennet get an extension after a bad record? I really want to feel comfortable with Hart but I can't get over a 12 year contract with NTSU.

For the record, while I'm not thrilled with all that is JJ, I am also not in the "fire him now" camp. If Hart & the C of C for whatever reason think that an extension is in order, I would hope to hell that it is loaded with performance incentives to motivate positive changes. Otherwise it is just killing us slowly. The guy can coach, but he needs a kick in the rear to do the rest of the job required to build a quality program; an extension under the present terms clearly doesn't do that.

Completely agree with this. I've made my mancrush on JJ well known around here, but the status quo isn't going to cut it any longer. He either needs to get serious about recruiting or bring in people like Klemm who will do the heavy lifting for him there.RyanSMU98 wrote:For the record, while I'm not thrilled with all that is JJ, I am also not in the "fire him now" camp. lol at reading anything into Hart's answers either way.

Hart said in one of his posts that his goal was conference championships and national championships.

I honestly think SMU has the big-time support ready-to-go, but they are in wait-and-see mode before they go all-in. They said, "here have a $2M coach and show me something before more money comes," and here we sit. SMU should be lining up our next coaching move soon. Weak recruiting classes and a lame duck season could put us back in the hole again.
