http://assets3.thrillist.com/v1/u/TAMUBand.gif"Back in ‘81, TV cameras caught one “Officer of the Day†drawing his saber on a male SMU cheerleader, only to be shoved to the ground by the cheerleader’s squad-mate. These days, the sabers are welded to their scabbards so that no more cadets need ever suffer that kind of humiliation. " I thought this was funny in the wake of the upcoming game....

Notice the A&M security guy going after our cheerleader instead of the jerk with the saber! Typical of College Station.
About 25 feet from the Hillcrest track... With the boots so tall and the writing on the wall...

And the Aggies wonder why they have the reputation they do. The guy that pushed the social reject cadet to the ground was David Schmidt, I think. I might be wrong, that was a few years ago. He was a fraternity brother.

If that happened today, our cheerleader would be charged with a hate crime for assaulting a member of a social minority group

I've always thought that Mustang cheerleader showed guts taking on that saber-wielding corpsturd bare-handed. That's what a man does: stick up for your comrade in the clutch.
An SMU cheerleader displaying the kind of fortitude that Aggies love to mouth off about. Pony up MFers!
