As many woes as the ponies may have, the fans in Austin are more rabid about UT losing so badly than we will ever be about improving SMU.

True, which is exactly why they'll get that thing turned around soon.

UT is UT. Obviously they will get it turned around.
The question is whether MB will be on the sidelines when they do. If I was a UT fan i would upset given the resources they have talent wise.

We don't have woes. We have stagnation after a precipitious climb out of suckhood.

At the end of the season Mack Brown will be named new AD. He will go get either Sumlin from A&M or Saban from Bama. Money talks and they have a lot. As much as I dislike UT, IMO it's the most appealing job in the country. When right, you've got your pick of the best HS football in Texas, which means the best in the country. You get to live in Austin, a town you will own if you win, and you've got your own damn network. Oh, and you will get PAID.

Sumlin will be in the NFL and Saban isn't leaving Bama (Bama can match anything Texas could pay). Bevo will end up with someone like Briles, Franklin or Strong.

Tampa wouldn't be so bad, though. A&M would match whatever Texas offered for Sumlin. If he leaves CS, it's for the NFL

You hear a lot of names, but I hadn't heard Sumlin's name mentioned. Talk about a bold move. A&M likes to think it's now the big dog in the state. Stealing him would be a huge coup in Austin. It would cost a fortune, but if anyone could do it, it would be UT.

A&M would match whatever Texas offered, though. If you're Sumlin, why waste the job security capital you've built up in College Station to go to Austin where expectations are sky high and the money is the same?

Because you get to live in Austin instead of College Station. Ask Johnny Football which place he prefers.
