I like the numbers game but one does acknowledge that the offenses the two QBs operate in are different. A$M has a more consistent running game and SMU has not established a consistent running game yet. That changes the passing game for both QBs.

Gilbert has done well early in the season, and carried the team on his back against Montana State, refusing to lose.

That said, Johnny football only playing the third quarter of the first game kind of impacts his averages.
