Too rich for my blood. Cool jersey, though.

Actually, I think that jersey s*cks...looks like someone went to the nearest Wal-Mart and bought a plain, vanilla jersey off the rack and slapped the numbers on it. Nothing to indicate it's SMU-related.

Well, I guess it's supposed to look like the style that Forrest wore in his days here.

Here's a question about these auctions: Where are they getting these items from? I just have this slight fear that these are items set aside for Heritage Hall and now they're being sold on ebay. Can anyone involved with HH or the auctions answer this? I'd hope these weren't, but I was curious how the school had an extra 1936 Rose Bowl program lying around.

I heard that they are items that were specifically 'donated' for the ebay auctions.

But now that you mention it...

If I see any of my father's SMU memorabilia that he donated to HH showing up in these auctions, there will be h*ll to pay!

I am fearful too, Must Sal, very , very , very fearful...someone has broken into the HH vault , ripped off these absolutely wonderful items, and has put them on e-bay, or I also fear, I am so fearful, that someone within the Ath. Dept. is working some scam on the side, "give us your HH item(wink wink), we will display them in HH (wink wink..). I am fearful, and like you Must, suspicious...oh, the fear.....

If you will read the blurb, you will find out that it is a replica jersey...not the real original jersey. The autographed program is real, but is from the time period when Forrest was our AD.

PK,
I know this is a replica jersey, and they can sell as many of those as they want.

I'm referring to an earlier auction that was a game program from the 1936 Rose Bowl vs Stanford. I'm just thinking those must be pretty hard to come by, and who coughed one up just to be sold AWAY from SMU on ebay, especially when we have a whole entity dedicated to collecting things like this.

I could be placing some false blame here, but I'm just curious where that came from.

Either SMU or C-USA clear has some kind of cross-promotional relationship with eBay, because this on-line auction is being pimped through the "Mustang Insider" e-mail, as well.

I don't get into eBay or auctions, so I haven't paid any attention to what items have been in the auctions therefore I thought everyone was getting upset about the jersey.

I would hope that there is more than one Rose Bowl program floating around out there such that they could let a possible HH donation be put out for auction instead.
