Having a 1,000-yard rusher in a 13-game season (14 games one year) is deceiving as SMU under JJ is consistently ranked in the 90s or 100s in team rushing offense. If Line had not gotten hurt two years ago, he would have finished with more rushing yards than the team total (as sacks are included in colleges stats). Not sure that has EVER happened, where a player had more rushing yards that his team total. Yes, Line was excellent, but the rushing offense was otherwise well below average.

The main reason why GG has any time at all to pass is that Prescott Line has picked
up opposition blitzes time after time. JJ says he is the best blocker he has ever coached
and I tend to believe him.

If the O Line would block for the run, Prescott would continue to run well because he runs
downhill and pulls tacklers with him. He doesn't not have blazing speed and JJ should quit
calling sweep plays for him.

At this point in time all three backs are on a par with each other. All I am saying is that Zach
will continue to get more playing time because he is a better pass blocker and JJ will pass the
ball 75% of the time.

Yes, Shead fumbled a couple of times.. but im chalking that up to first game of the season jitters. I'm excited to see more of him. he was a dominant RB in JUCO

Shead did not look great in the opener against Tech before he got hurt, but I am more than happy to welcome him back.

Prescott Line brings close to nothing to the table offensively.

I don't know if Shead is the answer, but that doesn't mean there's a problem with him. I think he's good, but I like some of what I have seen from Line and Nlemchi, too. Line has found some yards inside where there didn't seem to be much room, and Nlemchi adds explosiveness. The problem seems to be up front. I don't know enough to say what makes one offensive lineman better or worse than another, but I do know that this team has lost 8 senior starters in the last couple of years. After Gottschalk got dinged the other day, that made 9 in just over 2 years. That could make it tough for Eric Dickerson and Reggie Dupard.

As Ponyte pointed out Prescott missed his share of blocks as well. I don't know what game you were watching nor where you are getting your info from but I do not believe it is accurate.

Line as got stuffed behind or at the line of scrimmage on more than on occassion.

That is usually a result of poor blocking up front. When TCU started pouring in additional rushers from the sides we should have opened up a hole in the middle and let Line or whatever RB run through the open middle of the defense. Our coaches do not seem to be able to make adjustments to the play calling during the game. It's sad.
