I can't root against the Ponies either but I get it. I guess I could if it guaranteed a change and by change I mean we hire a stud. But no one can do that. Can you? Anyone? Seriously, anyone?

Re: My cubicle partner went to Rutgers
Until Hart, RGT, the CoC, students, and fans collectively turn our pitchforks and torches towards the obvious culprit (June Jones) then I will hope we get our asses thoroughly kicked in every game. Until he's gone there will be no realistic hope of improvement.
As to "some kind of fan" I am....aren't you cute. I've been to every home game since 2002 and seen road games at Washington State, TCU, Houston, Rice, UTEP, Tulsa, Tulane, and Navy. I've given $1K to the Mustang Club since graduation in 2006. Thankfully I've already sent Hart and RGT plenty of emails saying that unless changes are made you can count me out for 2014 and beyond. The band of maybe 150 young alumni under the age of 35 that even know we have a football team are already fed up.
I've said it here before, but just you guys wait until our old retirement home oil barons die off and we are left to fund this program with alums that graduated post death penalty. The money will dry up faster than you can possibly imagine.

Yeah lets go 6-6 again and give Jones an extension so that we ensure ourselves of never doing anything of actual consequence for the next 3-5 years. Yay!

Re: My cubicle partner went to Rutgers
I hate it for the kids but their leader is stealing millions from my alma mater and looks like he'd rather be doing anything other than coaching at SMU. Until he is no longer affiliated with this school I hope he and his outdated, antiquated, ancient, pathetic excuse for an offense gets exposes him as the fraud that he is and gets its doors blown off. That is only way we will see meaningful change from our administration. Hart is Turner's gimp and until Turner and the CoC have had enough of this garbage we won't see anything happen. You want to talk about sorry fans? A sorry fan is someone who actually defends this coaching staff and wants to build some kind of shrine or monument to mediocrity. What few fans we actually have are so battered wife syndrome that they don't even dare to dream of doing something better than meaningless bowls and going .500.

The mid-aged money guys are so sick of the mediocrity of the olds that they are checking out as well.

Re: My cubicle partner went to Rutgers
The old guys are important, but the reality is that tuition and endowment are paying most of the athletic department bills. Only 10-12 colleges in the country break their athletic department expenses even and/or makes some money. I am not sure of our deficit; however, it is probably close to $100 million in the last 6 years. Turner chalks this off to PR as our sports teams give us more national exposure than our modest academic reputation.couch 'em wrote:The mid-aged money guys are so sick of the mediocrity of the olds that they are checking out as well.
Can anyone answer this: what have our actual expenses been for our last 4 bowl games vs. what the bowl has paid out plus other expenses they have paid????? My rough calculations have teams participating in all non-BCS bowl games picking up the tab for far more expenses than the meager bowl pay-out.

Re: My cubicle partner went to Rutgers
It should terrify you. We have less than 200 alumni under the age of 35 that are genuinely invested and passionate about SMU football.
