I don't think the age issue is as important as getting a coach who can build a staff of high-energy effective recruiters ala LB. I suspect a lot of us don't really believe we can get a top level P5 coach to come here so considering a younger asst. coach is the more likely option.
But we will need someone capable of developing the incoming talent. Better recruits is not the sum total of the solution. Not remotely. We need someone who can get higher level recruits in higher numbers, which means getting higher level recruits who know they might not even start, and then you need to be able to turn these recruits into players, and I'm a system that works. There are so many factors and recruiting is only one, an important one but I think far too any people on here think it's the only thing.
