The NDSU guy is a good fit for them having been a Nebraska guy.
One of the better things Meyer had going for him was he matched the 'Dallas guy' of the period.. Young, brash, flash and full of cash.

Re: Mark DantonioI like your thinking Statler.
Some of the replies remind me of those questioning the expense of SMU. Yes, it is ~$12k per year more than Baylor or TCU (if you pay full boat). But you know what, even before you are 30 years old you will look back on that additional cost to attend SMU and say, 'it was one of the best investments I've ever made or will make in my lifetime.' Which leads to our next FB coach. What is at stake here is the possibility of $50M conference revenue annuity vs. $5M and we are quibbling about a few incremental million dollars over the next 5 years? Hopefully, our AD understands the economics here and gets the proper funding. Oh, and MI has a 5% state income tax.,
Re: Mark Dantonio
This used to mean something to me until I started looking at property in Texas and realized that even though Arkansas has a State income tax, the Texas property taxes are so high that they more than offset the income tax in Arkansas, and I cannot control the amount of the property taxes like I can my income. Politicians get it one way or the other. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand

AGREE. The WIKI article linked at the start of this thread notes that a contract extension makes him a "Spartan for Life."
Re: Mark DantonioI think Statler's point is that if you throw enough $ at certain people you might be surprised at the results. This is not directed specifically at Dantonio, but simply at a high caliber coach. At least that is how I interpret it.
