feelthehorsepower wrote:I prefer we play P5 schools and slowly win our way up...maybe next year we beat one of them and the other one we beat 2 out of the 3...than being stuck with a boring OOC schedule against crappy FBS and FCS schools. This 1-3 will do more good than harm, and we have played tougher teams than rutgers has. Our hardest offense was Texas A&M and our hardest defense was TCU...so anything from here on out should be a piece of cake
That is precisely my point. We supposedly want to be in a P5 conference and yet so many of our fans are upset at our AD for scheduling P5 teams. If you don't want to play them out of conference, why would you want to play them in conference? I want to play them any way we can schedule them. We need to play TCU, Baylor, and Texas Tech on a yearly basis. Throw in UNT, UTEP, UTSA, etc. and that is how our schedule should be constructed. If we were in a P5 conference we would be playing more teams like Memphis, Temple, USF, and UCONN. If you are in a P5 conference you play down out of conference. If you are not in a P5 conference you play up out of conference. What does it matter when you play the schools you want to play as long as you do play them?

Has anyone noticed that PlanoStangs text doesn't go all the way across? Do you randomly hit enter in the middle of sentences or something? But you also need to pull your head out of your asss, this team has no depth at all. Having those 3 back would help, but it doesn't change the complete makeup of the 85 on scholarship
Pretty anal ain't ya
May the forth be with us.

you guys do realize that ru beat arkansas (albeit without their starting qb). that's pretty impresive to me. arkansas went toe to toe with tamu last saturday.

The Arkansas backup QB is not good. Cannot pass. Rutgers put 9 in the box, and it still took 2 punt returns and a stupid penalty by Arkansas to lose the game. That does not mean we win but the comparison is not valid.

i don't doubt what you are saying mrydel. i barely saw any of the game. arkansas could have mary poppins playing qb and we wouldn't beat them.

Football is all about matchups...just because RU beat Arky doesn't mean they can beat us! We could beat Arky in that situation as well. Our team is mad from the loss at TCU which is very embarrasing for us in the hilltop so my best guess is our boys can scratch up a 8-0 conference record just to prove the point that SMU is competitive!

We could possibly have beaten the Arkansas team that Rutgers beat (probably not because of our poor run defense) but we certainly would not beat the Arkansas team that played A&M.
