jt, how about you manage your (low) expectations and allow everyone else to manage theirs? Having a little optimism for the season ain't a crime.

GO MUSTANGS!

You are so wrong, sunshine--I have NO expectations. What is this now, your sixteenth year in a row of bowl predictions for SMU? If that ain't a crime, it ought to be.

I'm not here for a fight, jt. Just questioning your neurotic need to constantly remind everyone to have low expectations. It hurts NOTHING for a fan to come on here and act like, well, a fan. Maybe there are exceptions, but I suspect that most fans don't need your life lessons on reasonable expectations every time they post something hopeful.

Sometimes it's like you and Stallion are a one two punch designed to bring down everything fun about SMU athletics. I for one am a little tired of it.

Can't speak for Stallion, but other than the Boulevard, what exactly is fun about SMU athletics? We are astonishingly bad. We are the school that the good teams look to when they want to schedule a patsy. We are perpetually less than mediocre. What, I ask again, is fun about that?

High expectations hurt when you fail to meet them. "Expectations" means what is expected, which usually results in disappointment when it is not met and suggests somethign went awry. It is one thing to expect something of yourself. But it is unfair to create expectations for others, particularly if somebody's job and reputation is on the line.

Perhaps it is a question of semantics. I am optimistic about this team, but by no means am I predicting a winning season. Anyone that has been predicting bowl games each year for the past 10 years or so should reconsider his methodology.

Should we expect more from this team? Sure. But what has this university done to deserve those high expectations? Not a damn thing.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

it looks like a horse commercial for feed!!!

so ridiculous looking!!!!

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Agreed. I'm just setting forth the radical notion that we allow fans to decide individually their own levels of optimism rather than having our legal crew lose a testicle any time anyone dares to cheer on their team around here.

Well it's a little better, but the "secondary mark" is still getting top billing. Thankfully they didn't use that mounted trophy horses head like they did on the auction stuff.

jeez, PK, the top billing is the helmet with the mangled running horse logo (mangled as in a dark blue background). Now your just being silly.

JT, stick to what you know...no expectations. You may not give a sh*t and that is your preogrative, but I happen to be very concerned with where this logo/mark thing is headed...so live with it.

I hope ponyboy keeps it up. His optimism is sometimes a refreshing break from some of the negativity here.
Keep it up, ponyboy! We're with you.

And blowing this molehill up is yor prerogative--just don't misinterpret things--the helmet is at the top of that ad, and the running horse appears twice in it.

When Baylor kicks our @ss opening day, it's not gonna have anything to do with the "secondary" logo. You're a smart guy, PK--this program's got bigger fish to fry.
