A tale of two halves

Post by SMU2007 »

How is it that we looked the worst we have looked all year in the first half, and the best we have looked all year in the second half (4th q)?

Is this team just mentally fragile, not that talented, or both? We can't seem to put together a complete game. It is really frustrating because at times we look like we are making progress, and at other times, we look like we are back to our 0-12 form from 2003. Is this a reflection on coaching or what?

Seems like it is more talent than being mentally fragile. I do not see how a team that is mentally fragile comes back like that.

who knows, this team will probably start to click when it's too late to make a bowl. I think that game was pivotal to have any bowl chance but watch us beat UCF and Cinn somehow...lol

I don't know. When things start to go bad, we seem to implode (see 2nd half of TCU game and 1st half of Rutgers game). I think a good percentage of it is the mental aspect.

JJ penciled this as a "W" but forgot about it before the game and went into it thinking it was a "L". He went into halftime thinking losing was no big deal. Sometime in the 3Q a trainer caught a glimpse of June's calendar and saw it was actually supposed to be a "W". The trainer run out and tells June who is like "oh my gosh" and so he quickly devises a plan to salvage this game, but ultimately falls short.
