The problem isn't Ford, it's the lack of people in it

There is nothing wrong with Ford for where we're at now.... do you really think renovating Ford is going to pull in the athletes to compete at the highest level? I'd rather save that money and put it towards a coach that recruits hard OR improving training facilities.

For example look at the stadiums that Vandy, Northwestern, and Duke play in.... they look like crap AND they're private schools but they have coaches that seem to give a damn and try to recruit quality athletes.

True, we need the coaching and the athletes first, then fill up the existing stadium before we even build a new one.

By the way, David Cutcliffe gets all the "let's build him a statue" love he could want. Those who followed the Bennett/JJ transition know that Cut was hired at Duke the same year JJ was hired here, and Cut has taken Duke to all of one bowl game, a crappy bowl in uninspiring Charlotte last year, which they lost on a stupid fumble late in the fourth. But he really cares about the school, has delivered a few nice regular-season wins, and his teams show up ready to compete.

He also has to recruit in the ACC vs Conf USA at a basketball school. I think he would have gone to four bowls and maybe had a better record had he been in Conference USA. I'd think the academic standards at Duke would make it harder to bring in quality athletes, but I really haven't researched it much... What's your take?

Personally I think Mr. Ford looks very nice for a man his age.

Ford is fine for us. It's actually a really fun venue when it's packed, like for Tech or TCU games. We just need to pack it more often

FTHP, I'll just fill you in real quick and say that as a general consensus, you're not going to find many here who think that Ford is a problem, because it's not. We don't have enough people to fill it.

Could they have designed it better originally (cough cough, two decks with the same capacity, cough cough), maybe, but UP restrictions had something to do with that. Point being, Ford is just fine right now. What needs to be renovated is Wescott to make it an IPF.

Put your attention and effort towards the man behind the curtain, June and his lack of recruiting.

Agree with CenTx. If we played an ACC schedule, we would still be in our bowl drought.

Feelthehorsepower posted in another thread that we will never win again if we fire JJ, and if JJ was able to recruit who he wanted we'd be a lot better.

Do you need to know more?

FTHP is trying to win the award for most delusional ponyfan. The competition is stiff, but I think he has a definite leg up.

His post from Jones on the hot seat.....perhaps the most comical post ever on PFs

If SMU gets rid of June Jones...don't expect us to win any more...we need him and if we would have listened to his recommendations and recruited the kids he wanted to bring in...we might have gotten things changed around already and not be in a 7-7 rut
