Funny how the Administration will say what everyone want to hear when they are asking for Mustang Club donations.

Billy Joe,

You seem fixated on the IPF. While I support one as well, just curious what you think JJ's W/L record would have been here if he had an IPF from day 1.

His current W/L is 32-38.

I always hate the Hawaii-Georgia argument and it is only used because it was a non-AQ school.

That same season Illinois lost to USC 49-17 & OU lost to WVU 48-28 in BCS bowl games. USC and WVU were both ranked lower than Georgia. So did Illinois and OU not deserve to be in BCS bowls either because they got blown out or is it only non-AQ schools?

Didn't think so. Next....

And your point is someone needed to have been "vehemently opposed" to June's hiring in order to be critical of him now?

Given Jone's improvement of the team over the last 4 years from non-competitive to 4 middle of
the pack bowl games in a row, that would be a BIG yes :!: :!: :!:
May the forth be with us.

I never said Hawaii didn't deserve to be in a BCS bowl, just that them getting beat down by Georgia undermined their season.

You know what, I think Hawaii got what it wanted by making it to the Sugar Bowl. Win or lose it doesn't matter, they played Georgia and got national press for that. TCU went to a lot of crappy bowls in 1999-early 2000's before they made it to the Fiesta bowl in the late 2000's and finally won the Rose Bowl in 2010. In the 90's they were a 1-11 team...grew up to become a 10+ win program in CUSA, MWC, consistent national rankings and finally Big 12 in 2012. SMU with our entitled attitude thought we could get into the Big 12 by going to mediocre bowls and never being ranked after the death penalty...that's not how you do it! You wait a few years, become a 10+ win team and become ranked. Play your OOC vs teams that are in good conferences that you know you can win against! If SMU wants to play a Big 12 opponent, we should play Kansas instead of Baylor (we can roll over Kansas even with our current squad.) If we want to play a team from the SEC, you play Arkansas (we have a chance against them, compared to playing Manziel's Texas A&M Blowout). We could even organize a season opener vs. a school like Cal Golden Bears (they're 1-4, a Pac-12 team) gain the recognition of beating a Pac 12 team. We have to choose our battles vs. the P5 schools.

Schedules are made at least 5 years in advance. You have no way of knowing the strength of a team that far away. Without Manzeil, A&M could be a competitive game today. I believe Arkansas will be in the top 25 in 5 years by watching what their new coach is putting together. It would be far better to try and build a team to beat anyone rather than trying to guess who you may be able to beat in the future at the level you are playing now.

He really should know better by now, shouldn't he? Logic has NO place on PonyFans!
