SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesSMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesSounds like it's more than "SMU considers ...," given that the school has garnered consents from UP and Dallas County. Next stop TABC!
The article is very misleading in saying only Houston allows the sale of alcohol today. Only Houston allows it to all attendees. Every or nearly every D1 school sells to big givers (or special-fee-payers, a la Rice's endzone thing) one way or another.
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesThey used to sell beer on campus
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesHey, look, here's a group of people I couldn't give less of a sh*t about: the neighbors!
"If one is approved, stadium neighbors — already concerned about game-day parking — could have another reason to complain." You moved next door to a large, national University that's been there 100 years and has helped drive your home prices to astronomically high levels. P!ss off
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesDon't they sell booze now up behind the glass where the pretty people sit.
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball games
I agree with most of your point, but those people paid the astronomically high prices for their homes, so it is not like they benefited from the run up because they bought when the houses were cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball games
So you are saying they are already mad at us for driving up the prices too. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand

Yes, but it's under a different type of license than what would be required.
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesI still say our AD is responding to the fans' interests in several areas-I really don't have a dog in this hunt-because I'd prefer to close bars down and watch football sober-but if it will help get fans into the stadium I'm all for it. He is doing what an AD is actually hired to address
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Hart is doing all the right stuff but don't tell those on here that want his head just because he's not Orsini
Re: SMU considers sale of beer at football, basketball gamesHart hasn't had to make any tough decisions yet. No reason to criticize him at this point.
