Telling your team to play with a sense of urgency as if they were behind is in no way the same as telling them "I expect you guys to lose".

And look at the results! As you admit yourself, your team won, June's team lost. Have you figured out yet which one is a more effective message for a coach to deliver :!: :?: :!: :?: :!: :?: :!: :?: :!: :?:  :!:  :?: :!:  :!:

Could be if he was trying to use anger as a motivator. That no good sunuva... Thinks we're no good... We'll show his a** a thing or 2.

I think this was RIDICULOUSLY taken outta context by the JJ haters on here.

Do you even understand the context he said it in? This was a remark at the end of the season at his weekly film session (at Ozona's...in public). He was going through the season game by game and said that he had expected to lose to Rice, in fact he had 'penciled it in' before the season began.

That is a FACT.

Thank you! While I think that June was foolish to say it, what he was expressing was that when looking at the schedule, as has been talked about here, he looks for the first 6 wins. He breaks the season up into quarters to reach a bowl game and he obviously in the case of the game against Rice, down in Houston, did not see that as a must W. That is what he meant. He is not giving up before a game.

I haven't seen many closeup shots before a game. If true, that's more a reflection on the players than anything else.

That's a real champions mentality... just win 6 and everything after that is a bonus! Oh there's a conference championship game??? Is it in Hawaii? Oh it's not? Well no thank you then I'll just stick to six wins!

Assuming what you just said is the true case as to how June thinks..then I want June gone in the next minute....seriously? The rice game wasnt a must win??? It put us at 5-6 with a tough Tulsa team following in which we beat them by half a yard. The well is running dry for y'all to go to...

I agree that people put too much into the pencil in comment here, but I believe smusic is the person who asked the question that elicited the response so he is not relying on hearsay as far as what June said.

But he really cares about the school, has delivered a few nice regular-season wins, and his teams show up ready to compete.

Agree with CenTx. If we played an ACC schedule, we would still be in our bowl drought.

C-USA has been a big drawback to our recruiting. I'm not saying that we would have been to 4 bowls if we had been in a BCS conference over the past few years, but we would definitely find a bigger, better pool of players who would be interested in coming here.

I wouldn't say being in a non P5 conference really hurts recruiting because TCU and Boise State were recruiting at P5 levels. It's the quality of your facilities, the coaching staff, school culture/fans etc. as well as who they play with. SMU can have a reputable, top 25 program without being in a BCS conference. It will be harder to get into a bowl but it doesn't mean you can recruit good classes and win football games.

being non-BCS definitely hurts recruiting-but that's not what critics are complaining about. We are complaining about the lack of communication with recruits and high school coaches, charting the recruiting crop and follow-up with recruits. Basically lazy recruiting. If you don't have access to recruiting services you aren't getting the full picture

And an extra $15-20 million a year helps some too.

Yes we have attendance problems. Lots of schools have attendance issues.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Seems lotsa froggies weren't there to start, or went home at halftime.

Over the years TCU will become the bottom feeders of B12, along with
Baylor again after their coach leaves for :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
