From today's Waco Tribune --
I know that we will get a couple of wins early,†said junior Daniel Sepulveda, who won the 2004 Ray Guy Award as the nation's best collegiate punter. “And you can be sure that the stands will be full when we come back from that early road trip ... because people are just waiting for success in Waco.â€
Just like last season, when they stubbed their toe with an opening 56-14 loss at Alabama-Birmingham, the Bears are hoping for a fast start in non-conference. Sandwiched around a Sept. 10 home opener against I-AA Samford are road games on Sept. 3 at SMU and Sept. 17 at Army

I think stubbing a toe that hard would require amputation at the hip.

Hmmm, great bulletin board posting material. Blow this up a few times,
and post it somewhere prominent in the locker room.

I'll have to do some research, but is this the first time a punter has talked smack?

That reminds me of a game against Baylor in the mid 90's. Our punter made SportsCenter because he punted a ball that hit about the line of scrimage and went backwards.
I think that was Larry Israel?

He's a kicker, not a punter, but you make a good point.

I can't remember which it is, but either BYU or Boise State has/had a kicker that last year layed some hat on people during the game between the two. What does this have to do with SMU football, you ask? Well, 1) we stole part of Boise State's look, and 2) BYU went back to their classic unis...not a bad idea.

That was the Baylor punter, he killed the UNT returner. I'll see if i can find the hit somewhere and get you a link.

BYU's kicker was the one looking like a linebacker against Boise State. He was a stud that night.
