At least with how horrible we play, we can make it back through all the beer sales for people to not wanting to remember the game.
You can get sufficiently drunk on the blvd before farqaud

SMU fans suck. The west side doesn't cheer, gets mad when other stand, and are awful "football" fans. This isn't suppossed to be quiet time with the wife and kids. Ford is mostly dead, it could use some booze to spice it up and make audible noise. I'm tired of it being a boring football environment. If it was an exciting place to be, people would stay longer.

Back during the run for our first bowl game in 2009, it was a lot of fun. Even the little things like making someone do push-ups on the student body when we scored. I MISS FUN

Im not saying it wont be fun for the single guys out there who can party it up, but our fanbase does have alot of husbands and wifes and also their children. If they see people with beer all around and doing stupid stuff they might not think its a welcoming atmosphere. Thats why Im saying the additional people from alcohol will most likely get netted with those who dont want to come to rowdy fans. Im all for people cheering and the fanbase needs to get that through their heads during a 3rd down etc. I just would want them to do it without the need for alcohol to enable that.

And by the way - to get the casual Dallas sports people at our game - we have to give them what they are used to. A more upbeat product, and yes...access to an occasional adult beverage.

If you want to stay home and watch Lawerence Welk, then so be it. We have no choice but to do this if we are going to expand past the 15k loyal fans we have.
Fair analysis, i did think about this when I was discussing with one of my Ranger buddies. I think as long as there are adequate safe guard, i think it will be fine as well. I think the only good comparison between college football and professional sports would be the mavericks. I know they're very rowdy there which that and the fact I don't like basketball is why I don't go to those games. I think Cowboys fans are pretty tamed as I know the ticket complains how quiet they are all the time. Ranger fans, well its baseball, so they're pretty tamed as well. The worst they do is boo or rant at the opposing team no biggie. I think college football can bring the worst out of people, much like the NBA, where people will get into fights or spill crap all over you. Its just my perspective and experiences that I have unfortunately witness happen that gives me this bias. I'm not totally opposed or anything, after all its only cheap beer.

As long as they have these beers on tap all will be fine:

Particularly number 8... in a cup that matches the bottle with a little SMU Jersey on it.

I like the idea behind the SMU tie-ins but I bet local breweries would prefer to promote their permanent brews. Still:

Dickerson, Dunkle-Bock
Pony Express, Pilsner
"The Doaker", Saison
"Gerald Mann", Red Ale
A "Dandy", witbier w/orange slice
A "Bobby", Stout

A Peruna is a beer cocktail - Peticolas' Velvet Hammer with a bombed shot of Frenet

Sale would not be allowed but you can make up a few batches and give them away. That would be nice. Bring enough for everyone.

Lol fine by me not to sit next to you, not sure if i should take the line as an insult or joke coming from you, but whatever. For the heck of it, why not have an actual thought out rebutal rather than just make an attempt at an insult? Food for thought!

I agree with Stlhockeyguy that a kiosk or two with local craft beers is a good idea, especially if we can get one of them to name a beer after something SMU related. However, while I love me a good American IPA, the majority of beer options still need to be Bud/Miller/Coors. Those brands will sell well, and if we do ever manage to attract the Dallas community to our games, we need to have them available to the average fan who will expect to see those beers at our concessions.

If SMU does go forward with beer sales at Moody and Ford, I expect to see a very minor improvement in attendance, but I would bet that the school gets a nice bump in gameday revenue. So even if it doesn't put more butts in the stands, this seems like a good idea for our cash-strapped athletic department.
