You know what's really irritating? The old and tired "I wish you'd try and ask/say THAT to his face." Outside of the occasional numb-nuts, yeah pretty much everything is spot on. Oh, wait- people already tried asking direct and probing questions in re. to Klemm and June's recruiting style, and got the infamous "over-head projector-gate."

This is a great article and should be read by all fans on this board. (I skipped a lot of the non-SMU stuff). Especially TCU worshippers and Attendance whiners. And yes, where is the defense!!? Particularly when Mason was so confident at the start of the season. Embarrassing, and they lost that Rutgers game.

Cool! A website that covers crazy comments made on Texas school's fan forums throughout the state. Great idea.

Seriously though, in the last 2 years, I'm not sure I have read a single thing about SMU athletics in a newspaper or magazine that I didn't already know several days before by reading ponyfans, Rivals or Scout. They just are not the best source of information any more

Oh? Coaches tend to be competitors? That's pretty darn convincing. I've changed my mind on June Jones now.

In DO believe that. He'll be known for his record. It's like attorneys. They may loathe the client but they hate to lose a case.

We weren't competitive in all 3 losses??! Gee, I thought we were beating TCU at halftime. I also remember were one bogus call from leading Tech in the 4th or was it late 3rd.

almost only counts in hand gernades and nuclear weapons. Our record is what it is and almost winning just doesn't count.

You can be competitive and lose. Against tech and TCU we were competitive. And we certainly game Rutgers all they could take. The end of the season will as I say time and time again, reflect better the state of the program. Right now it feels ugly but I have faith.

Uh not to be insulting... But what f-ing did you watch? We got slaughtered in 2nd half against tech and a mediocre tcu.... We should have destroyed Rutgers and their conservative gameplay. Nothing June can really do to rectify the situation.... Even if we win every game it would be a mediocre season and just plain sad.

Unfortunately, the game is 60 minutes long.....not 30 or 45. Tech and TCU ended up not being that competitive by the time the end of the fourth quarter.

As an example, Arkansas took the opening kickoff against South Carolina, moved right down the field and quickly scored a touchdown. Not only looked competitive but rather dominant. After that they ran 36 more plays in the entire game. 52-7 South Carolina. Short term competive just does not count.

our offense isn't bad. our d is atrocious.
we could win out but i doubt it.
the guy who skates by is mason while june gets all the blame.
memphis is a huge game-never though i would say that.
i'm confident with cutting edge material like this i will be quoted.

June gets the blame cause hes is the CEO and president of the SMU football team. If one of his vice presidents messes up than yeah its JJ's fault. Mason for the most part has put together a decent defense given the atrocious recruiting the tiki lord has put together. I think honestly the people under JJ are done. They probably sense the up and coming firing which usually results in us cleaning house. Nevertheless our offense still sputters as only the rutgers game we actually saw something be put together (for 1Qt plus overtime). As I have said in my posts, every game after this is really meaningless in the aspect of developing the program. If we wanted to "move forward" per se, we should have at least gone 2-2 and no less than 7-1 in conference play given its JJ's in progress 6th year.

I'd be willing to bet Mason has almost complete control over offers issued to defensive players. Now June will probably steal the better athletes for his offense but Mason seems very much in control of who gets defensive offers based on the hundreds of reports I've read.
