SMU SID
Why doesn't SMU sell or auction off game worn helmets? Baylor recently sold game worn helmets for $500 and game worn jerseys too. This could be a way for SMU to finance new helmets and get rid of old equipment.

We should get rid of all of the current jerseys ASAP. They're terrible

Baylor actually wins games....
Re: SMU SID
I'd buy one and even go higher than $500. Put them out there and let's see what the market is.

Start a special fund in the Mustang Club...it might take a few years but maybe we could fund an occasional set of special jersies every now and then.

They don't get rid of game worn stuff, they just recycle it year after year. We can't afford nice, new things.
I'm surprised they even put names on the back of the jerseys. If they didn't, our broke and impoverished athletic department could hand down even more jersey's for decades to come

Baylor reuses too. The inside of the helmet I bought shows that it was refurbished 2 or 3 times. But at some point they become dangerous for game use so with a new paint job and decals they can be sold for a profit.

That's what pretty much everyone does. I was more just lamenting the fact that our athletic department apparently can't afford to do any kind of alternative unis. Hell, we couldn't even get stripes on our pants for the 1983 unis.MV pony wrote:Baylor reuses too. The inside of the helmet I bought shows that it was refurbished 2 or 3 times. I know, I know, write the check if you want to see something different

Try to say something nice about SMU before the end of the day. Some people are perpetually stuck in gripe mode. I'm guessing "uniforms" is the default topic.

Um wanting to by a helmet (or jersey) is not a gripe.

I bid two-fiddy for the "Line P" jersey. It's 2-years old so should get 50% discount.
