12th post (by Aggie2008):
TAMU
~ @ Clemson - We haven't had great opening games under Fran so far, and this one is in one of the toughest stadiums to play in. Clemson is underrated in all the preseason polls as well IMO.
~ SMU - Before I get the laughs...hear me out. SMU is improving and I think overlooking them might be a possibility. I have the same fears with Texas State. I think we will out-athlete them at every position but that Baylor game last year still haunts me. Baylor is one game I am NOT worried about this year...sweet sweet revenge baby.
~ @ Tech - Tech is very good at home on that astroturf surface and they will be gunning for us as usual.
~ @ Colorado - They almost beat us last year thanks to some crazy coaching on their part (I think they threw every trick play in the book against us last year) and having them sandwiched between Baylor (which we will exhaust all effort to beat bad) and OSU, this one might be a little scary for us.
~ @ KState - they do not have Sproles but their QB threw all over us last year, and this one is on their turf.
Needless to say, Texas and OU of course (as always). I predict us beating OU this year. I will say again what I said before in May...on the day after Thanksgiving A&M will be undefeated...Texas may be as well if they get past OU and Ohio State. That should be a wail of a ballgame!

Mind your subject titles--one delusional idiot does not mean the entire cult is quaking in its koolaid.

they dont fear us, but most Aggies probably remember the last game at Kyle against us. Albert Connell. UGGGGGGGGHHHHH. The tie at the Alamodome was quite an upset in itself. Should have won that one too. We had quite a go at the Aggies and Razorbacks for a few years there back in the 90s.

I was at the Albert Connell game, and I can't remember many games when I've been more proud of the Ponies. I also will never get over Albert Connell pushing off like he did, or forgive the Three Blind Mice (or is that Seven Blind Officials) who blew the call. Call it sour grapes, but we deservedly won that game, which would have been a tremendous accomplishment for our guys.

Hey, we found a smart aggie!
Man, I hope he's right. That's the longest of longshots (I saw one website that said A&M could be a top-10 team this year -- a little high, I think, but indicative of McNeal's maturity and overall talent improvement), but how sweet would that be!

I don't want the Aggies to think anything other than SMU is a guaranteed win. I want them overconfident. I want them mentally checking this game off their schedule. I don't want them up for us at all. I want them to underestimate our team.

This is one Memphis Tiger fan in north Mississippi who will be cheering like crazy for the Mustangs.
Your battles are our battles now, guys...
Be sure and tune into ESPN on Labor Day at 3:30 to watch us take Ole Miss down for the third straight year.

EastStang,
I would submit that this would be a legit possibility had the Baylor game last year NOT taken place, and furthermore, were it not our home opener.
I'm hoping for a good game, as y'all stated above, the last two A&M/SMU games have been anything but ugly games. They've been good. Y'all are improving and Phil Bennett is the guy to get you there. We're really looking forward to having the SMU fans and your band in College Station here in a month and a half (geez, is it really that close already?). Gig 'em

Phil Bennett isn't the man to get you there but that is not the point of this post.
If you guys beat Baylor then I can see y'all sating within 14-17 of us. If not I think we beat you by 21+. It is the home opener and we will have two weeks to correct whatever mistakes we made at Clemson. I can see your defense being decent but I don't see a lot coming out of your offense, especially with your HC who likes to play musical chairs at QB.
I never heard anyone claim Connell pushed off until today. The big controversy after the game was whether Connell's foot was in bounds or not. Oh well, I was convinced Rossley just knew how to defend us better than any other team in the SWC back in those days (and we probably didn't take you too seriously).

I'd like to apologize for throwing stale grilled chicken sandwiches from the 10th story balcony of our hotel onto your fans and band during your parade in San Antonio in 1994 before the SMU A&M game. We stole about fifty of the sandwiches from our fraternity house's kitchen for our road trip and drank heavily the night before in Austin from about 7-10 and in San Antonio from about midnight to 2AM. There were 12 of us in a hotel room and I slept on the floor and shared a chair cushion as a pillow with some random Chi O (or maybe I used her as the pillow, I don't remember). In our defense, we were very hung over and upset that your F'ing band woke us up. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Good times.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
