City of MemphisMy wife and I arrived Friday in Memphis wearing our SMU gear and everywhere that we went: shops, restaurants, Starbucks, anywhere people asked us if we wee in town for the game. These folks were ALL super friendly and aware of the fact that SMU was playing with is weekend. When we got to the liberty bowl we were sitting at the 50 with a huge bunch of Memphis fans all around and they were super nice and friendly....every last one of them. I leave Memphis with the feeling that this is a town of extremely nice people who are very attuned to Memphis football and we will be back in two years. Thanks Memphis for the great experience!
Re: City of MemphisThat is nice. Wish I could go - it is a great town. Just wish their bball fans were as nice.

doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Re: City of MemphisWill be there for the bball tourney . My guess is it won't be so friendly .

Re: City of Memphis
Especially when we finally win a game or three in a conference tournament
Re: City of MemphisIn my opinion and experience in the Southern (SEC, ACC, AAC, B-12S) region the cities with the most nasty fans includes Baton Rouge (1st place) Lubbock (a close second), and Gainesville. Also, on the other hand they have a few really nice fans as well that are over shadowed by the loud obnoxious fools.
Re: City of MemphisMemphis has potential to be a good long term conference mate; they bring strength to the league in hoops and hopefully we will soon be competing with them on the hardwood as well. It certainly has been fun playing football against them the past few years
