Any word on Kevin Pope's injury? Looked like a hamstring. Need him back soon. He is a stud.

Defense went a step back when he left. I think this is what is most frustrating to me. We lose Pope and Greenbauer and the quality of our defense suffers much more than it should after 6 years of recruiting. We need better quality depth and it is not happening.

anybody figure out who the DB was that let his man get 20 yards open deep late in the game-I think Greenbauer was out. Couldn't tell on TV. Same thing happened against Tech- right- when Roundtree was replacing Greenbauer. Saved by the facemask

Not being able to see it on TV, did they show the facemask penalty? Curious as to how flagrant it was. That is not called often. I recall SMU losing a game to Baylor back in the 70's due to a facemask call against SMU lineman on a Baylor punt that allowed them a final drive to win the game.

I don't think TV coverage caught it. The announcers talked about it but I think it was out of the frame.

They showed a replay and it was a legit penalty. The surpise to me was the speed of the call in that the offical saw it and called it quickly, rather than waiting 5+ seconds to think about it. Maybe SMU coaches told the officals to be looking for it?

The only the thing better would be to hear that Roundtree was on a safety blitz and was the one grabbed by the facemask because he was going through untouched. I do not believe I have ever seen a more open receiver.

Yeah, that was a scary moment. Whoever was supposed to pick that guy up was obviously AWOL. Cannot have that.

Best I can tell we were confused on that play. The backers were running around lost prior to the snap. My guess is a backer was suppose to be in coverage and didn't know what coverage he was suppose to be in. We definitely were in confusion mode on that play and got lucky with the call.
