Re: The Big Bad SECAgree to disagree. In fact the one thing the national media points as a negative about the SEC is their historic and continued weak OOC scheduling.
Re: The Big Bad SEC
Compared to who? Florida and SC play FSU and Clemson every year respectively. LSU and Tennessee always schedule big teams out of conference. As has Bama in recent years. I remember Georgia playing Boise State and Clemson in recent years in addition to GT every year. That's just off the top of my head. Not to mention a murderer's row for your conference slate (unless you're UGA in recent years). Look at the Big 12- Baylor and Tech's OOC schedules are a joke- we're the best team either of them has played OOC. If either goes undefeated they don't deserve one ounce of consideration for the BCS title game. Anyone who doesn't think that the SEC is leaps and bounds ahead of every other conference in the country year in and year out is delusional. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: The Big Bad SECI think it is the top conference, just don't agree with the miles ahead part. I think it is also fascinating that Missouri and Texas A&M, two mid level at best Big 12 teams have done so well so fast. All you heard was the big bad sec would swallow them up, yet they are excelling and performing better than they did in the Big 12.
Re: The Big Bad SEC
As compared to who? PAC-12, Big Ten, AAC and Big XII schools all lost to FCS schools this year. Does FSU scheduling Savannah State a couple of years in a row upset anyone? Here's betting Texas scheduled Ole Miss thinking 'This is a guaranteed win against an SEC school!' I understand that the SEC has some cupcakes on the schedule (#Mississippi State) but until other conferences stop going for a guaranteed win themselves that complaint against the SEC is a complete joke.
Re: The Big Bad SEC
Well at lot changed when A&M went from the Big 12 to the SEC- they hired Sumlin and started Manziel at QB. As for Missouri, they've gotten really lucky with their schedule- they got Georgia and Florida who were both decimated with injuries when they played Mizzou. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: The Big Bad SECDitka would destroy the SEC.
Re: The Big Bad SECI think the Pac-12 does a good job of scheduling good teams OOC.
Cal vs. Ohio State, Northwestern ASU vs. Wisconsin, Notre Dame Oregon vs. Tennessee, Virginia USC vs. Notre Dame, Boston College Stanford vs. Notre Dame UCLA vs. Nebraska Washington vs. Boise State Stanford vs. Notre Dame Washington State vs. Auburn Utah vs. BYU That is the majority of the conference scheduling at least one traditional national power OOC.
