Truth. We need a bowl game, even if it's 6-6 and that's kind of BS. Having 2-3 extra weeks of practice would be big for the returning players in 2014 and it keeps the momentum going. Hopefully the bowl game can be JJ's "swan song" and he'll ride off into the sunset after another triumph in Hawaii or Birmingham.
It's hard to say the extra weeks of practice really help except to get ready for the bowl game. We start every year the same way........

True, but hopefully next season we'll be starting with a new head coach. Also, it would be helpful if we have any early enrollees in the 2014 class so they could get some reps as well.

This is something we could think possible if the following scenario would have happened: 1) SMU beats Texas Tech 35-31 2) SMU beats down Montana State 42-10 3) SMU loses to Texas A&M by 1 touchdown (VERY IMPORTANT!) 4) SMU beats down TCU (41-20) (VERY IMPORTANT!!!!) 5) SMU beats down Rutgers 55-17 6) SMU Beats down Memphis (48-7 type win) 7) SMU beats down Temple SMU beats Cincy 9) SMU beats down Conn 10) SMU beats down USF 11) SMU beats Houston 12) SMU beats UCF Wait, that's SMU going 11-1!! That's SMU being coached by a Kirby Smart type coach!!! THAT DID NOT HAPPEN...so there's no BCS Bowl

SMU would have to win out and everyone else would have to lose at least 2 conference games. If that happens...and this team goes on to win a BCS game, they will go down in history as the "Miracle Mustangs"

I'm not sure that a 72-0 beatdown in front of millions would be the best thing for our program.

True, see the 2007 Hawaii Warriors (hey they were coached by June too). The money would be nice but everyone would remember that team for getting blown out and basically nothing else.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Can we confirm it is actually FTHP and the account didn't get hacked? It's very important we keep the poll accurate

I'll correct this. In a tie, a "mini-conference" is set up between the tying teams and the head-to-head records between those teams is examined. For instance, if UL, RU, and SMU tie, this would be the result: UL 1-0 RU 1-1 SMU 0-1 And UL would get the BCS bowl, even if RU had a higher BCS ranking. BCS ranking is applied as the tiebreaker criteria only after the mini-conference is used (for instance, if UL and SMU ended in a two-way tie, both would be 0-0 in the mini-conference, and so BCS ranking would be used)

Exposure, exposure, exposure. I would take being in a BCS bowl over the BBVA/Hawaii bowl any day.

Let's beat Temple this week and then take it from there. Yes, we have an outside chance to win the conference.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
