I think the AAC signed with Hawaii Bowl as a contigent pick starting in the 2014 Bowl season not 2013. CUSA still owns that slot opposite to the MWC in 2013. But in any event, ESPN owns all these minor bowls and when conferences can't fill their quota they can sometimes trade a slot

If Hawaii can win 6 in a row and SMU wins 4 more, ESPN might want 6-6 Hawaii against 6-6 SMU.......

and 3 of those games are against some of the worst teams in all of FBS. Then we have to just win ONE against UCF, Cinncy, or UH.

Personally, I think we just win 4 total (beat Temple and UConn or we [deleted] the bed against one of them and pull off a win against UH, who is way worse than their record). However, we have the ABILITY to win 7 total (the 5 remaining of course are Uconn, USF, Temple, UH, and Cincy).

So, to come back to reality and somewhere in between the 2 extremes, we beat Temple, UConn, USF, and UH to get to 6 (the USF game is the "be careful" one - beating them on the road might be tricky).

UH will be much more difficult than USF-both on the road. I don't understand why losing to BYU by a breath-taking point is so awful. BYU has beaten Texas and Georgia Tech and Houston gave them everything they wanted. BYU's 2 losses are to BCS schools on the road by 3 to Virginia and 7 to Utah. BYU pretty much won the boxscore in both losses. USF can't score an offensive TD. UH is 2 TDs better than USF in the Sagarin ratings

Hate me all you want sunshiners, but the way we have been playing... 4-8 likely and 5-7 at best....UCF will smack us around, Houston will air raid us, and i predict a rutgers style comeback against cincy but we lose in 4OT, cause we are awesome like that. The 2 or 3 games we do win I suspect will be like memphis, close and sad.

We have three games that we should win and three games that we can win, but will require outstanding performances. My dream right now is that we go into the UCF game at home playing them for the title. With Cincy playing Louisville two days before, it could be huge. I don't expect it but if you don't have a dream as a fan what is the point?

It starts on Saturday.
