AAC launches Miami Beach Bowl

Postby Water Pony » Thu Oct 24, 2013 11:40 am

The AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE, in conjunction with Marlins Park, has announced the creation of the MIAMI BEACH BOWL – a groundbreaking event that will bring postseason college football back to Miami.

I like the venue and destination and would love to go, if the Mustangs earn it.

From the press release:
The Miami Beach Bowl will match an American Athletic Conference team against an opponent from either Conference USA, the Sun Belt Conference or the Mid-American Conference.

Great location, but really? "We are proud to announce the Innaugural Who Gives a Crap Bowl brought to you by Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaner."

So much for separating ourselves from the other G5 conferences.

Heard it's a rotation of CUSA, Sun Belt, and MAC rotation as an opponent.

bottom line is AAC owns this bowl - that is a pretty big deal. Build it up and it can be a real asset.

The P5 (with espin's help) has completely shut out the G5 - except for a crumb or 2 here or there.

It is what it is.
