Maybe he just got tired of mowing the lawn and was too cheap to hire someone to do it for him, so he moved into the Hyatt House.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
I want to jump in on June's commitment or lack there of to winning this year. I don't see any difference this year from any other year, except he may be a little more relaxed (which is consistent with someone who knows his future.) I have no doubt he always has wanted to win and still does. He would love to win the conference which gets him to a BCS bowl. Why wouldn't he - even if he is leaving? I think the ultimate problem JJ has is he has the mindset of an NFL coach. They don't recruit (the GM does), they don't have many heavy hitting practices, and the preseason (non conference) games are meaningless. Unfortunately that is not the mindset of a winning college coach. If Big Foot is correct, I think that is very encouraging for SMU. In the meantime let's hope June can get us to the BCS.
Wow. I will repeat what I said in another thread way back when. We may have a state income tax in Arkansas but our property taxes are much lower than Texas which I would guess more than offsets. Those not owning get a break but goodness your property taxes are high. Ours would be about $2,000 to $2,500 for that property.
