They were talking about that this evening at one of the homecoming events. Sounds pretty cool as a tool for use across the broad spectrum of the university.
Of course he may not feel like writing another check for a new coach...

What does this mean in practical terms? More of a general research focus? A new school of practice? A new speciality?

Basically a data/computer center for the university allowing cross disciplinary data gathering and processing. It's a modern day research tool.

will be a huge help in organizing us to attract more research dollars - most if not all of it will be utilizing our increased data capability - so having a centralize location dedicated to research should be a huge benefit. Every research dollar saves the University "carrying costs" - and helps tuition and endowment dollars go further. smart long term move.

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Thanks for explaining. For a minute I felt like my kids last year at Xmas when we gave them a gift and they got really excited, without a clue of what it was.gostangs wrote:will be a huge help in organizing us to attract more research dollars - most if not all of it will be utilizing our increased data capability - so having a centralize location dedicated to research should be a huge benefit. Also, if he's feeling generous this Christmas season a new IPF will probably run us around $10M and June's 2014 salary is one the books for $2M more

So that's either where the police station is, the parking lot is, someone's house or that maintenance building.StallionsModelT wrote:http://www.smu.edu/SecondCentury/News/2013/FordGiftOctober2013

Gonna guess since Turner hates parking, it's going where the parking lot is....
